This NEPA notice, EIS No. 030263, DRAFT SUPPLEMENT, AFS, CA, NV, Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment, has new information on a range of alternatives for amending land and resource management plans. Counties in CA and NV affected include: Modoc, Lasser, Plumas, Tahoe, Eldorado, Stanislaus, Sequoia, Sierra, Inyo & Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forests, and the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. This information appeared in the June 13, 2003 Federal Register under the Environmental Impact Statements; Notice of Availability.

Economic impact study not included
Under the Socio-Econimic concerns in the Draft EIS, the BF of timber to be produced under each alternative is provided. Also, that grazing will be reduced under all alternatives. It also refers to mining, roads, aire quality, recreation and then a paragraph that says nothing but titled socioeconomic.

Forest Service has a new term for species
Now we have focal species. This is along with Forest Service Sensative Species, Management Indicator Species. I still have problems. Where does the forest service get the saturatory authority for their very own endangered species program? A program that the public apparently has no input into.

Distribution List
In addition to 4 full pages listing Indian tribes, government agencies, libraries etc, the distribution list includes over 2000 individuals.
